New study to tackle swallowing problems after stroke

Stroke researchers are to test a new treatment that could help patients with swallowing problems (dysphagia) related to stroke. Up to 50 per cent of patients with acute stroke develop dysphagia, which can have devastating consequences and even be fatal. (more…)

National Stroke Nursing Forum seeks members

The National Stroke Nursing Forum (NSNF) is seeking regional members to join their steering committee.

UCLAN are in the process of major re-organisation of the NSNF this year, with one aspect being a regional focus for the NSNF members to have closer contact with the organisation.  We are keen to get regional representation on the NSNF steering committee from the North West in the form of a regional lead and regional deputy.
