The session will be led by Salford Royal Hospital’s stroke Speech and Language team with the plan for the day as follows:
09:00- 09:30 – Welcome and registration
09:30 – 10:00 – How do we speak, listen, read and write and how these things can be affected following a brain injury.
10:00 – 10:45 – Dysarthria, dysphasia and dyspraxia – what do these terms mean and practicing recognising them.
10:45 – 11:00 – Break
11:00 – 12:00 – A practical session on supporting your patients with communication difficulties.
This event is open to Rehabilitation Assistants supporting the Greater Manchester stroke pathway in an inpatient and community setting.
