Rehabilitation Assistants Training #2

This is the second in our series of training sessions and will focus on visual impairment, cognition and support for driving.

The cognition element will be led by Clinical Neuro Psychologist Dr Viki Teggart and will feature:

  • Review of different cognitive functions
  • Overview of common cognitive deficits and how these can impact on participation in rehabilitation
  • Practical strategies for adapting rehabilitation sessions to reduce the impact of cognitive deficits

Orthoptist Dr Claire Howard will lead the visual impairment session.

Occupational Therapists Ellen Upton and Katie Hailstone will use the learning from the day to inform how to support driving advice.

This event is open to Rehabilitation Assistants supporting the Greater Manchester stroke pathway in an inpatient and community setting.
